BJ Bedford Fund
History

BJ Bedford, who won a Gold Medal and set a world record in the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics, as a member of the 4 x 100 Medley relay team, is a former NCAC Swimmer and resident of Etna, New Hampshire.

By the time the 1984 Olympics rolled around, BJ had been on the NCAC team for six years. She remembers watching the swimming events and saying, "Someday, Mommy, that's gonna be me." BJ swam with NCAC from the tender age of 5 until she moved to New Jersey to attend prep school at the age of 15. We are very honored to have her support in the establishment of this fund.

Talent, perseverance and many years of hard work brought BJ to that moment of Olympic Pride and glory.

Purpose

1. The fund is designed to provide financial assistance to swimmers who otherwise might not be able to participate with NCAC for financial reasons.

2. As NCAC athletes qualify for higher levels of USA Swimming National competitions, a scholarship is available to help offset the costs associated with attending these competitions.

How to Apply

For more information on financial aid opportunities for NCAC swimmers, please contact Gabby Black, the team registrar. All requests for financial assistance are kept confidential and awards are based upon need.
